Beth Scholes
Originally from Phoenix, Arizona Beth is a ‘late bloomer’; but has been running since 2000 and a triathlete since 2006. Going from a non-athlete to Ultraman UK 2016 Ladies Champion (10km swim; 420.2km Bike; 84.3km Run) she understands the challenges facing Novice athletes and those starting their athletic career ‘later in life’. Using her experiences as a Yoga teacher she works from a holistic approach with her aim being to build a strong athlete in mind, body and spirit.
Beth is currently coaching a wide range of runners and triathletes of all abilities with her particular passion being swim coaching. We have run a number of swim video analysis workshops and have coached a number of swim squads. She has also worked with a number of top coaches and swimmers up to an including Olympians. She used this swim knowledge to good effect when she swam the 24km length of Loch Tay!
In terms of her racing experience she has raced marathons and ultra marathons around the world including the 192 mile Hood to Coast and the 196 mile Radnor Relay with her personal highlights being the Comrades Ultra Marathon in South Africa which she has raced twice and competing at the Ultraman UK Championships where she was one of only five finishers and the only female finisher. Beth also won Gold for Team GB in the European Duathlon Championships in her Age Group, she has won her AG at the Outlaw Triathlon but the Ultraman distance (10km swim, 100 mile bike followed by a 170 mile bike before finally a 52 mile run) remains her CURRENT favourite!
